Project Scope of Work
Eni has started gas production from the Merakes Project in 2021 , located in the East Sepinggan block East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The Project is a deep-water gas field development at offshore Kutei Basin, with approximately 1,500 meters water depth. The five deep-water subsea wells produce 450 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The field has been connected to the Jangkrik Floating Production Unit (FPU), 45 km from Merakes field
Technip FMC as the installers of the original SPS have requirement to ensure ongoing operability including satellite subsea production systems, engaged Shelf Subsea over a number of seasons to perform their IRM operations.

Project Outcome
A technically complex project to replace a flying lead through ROV intervention at nearly 1500m water depth, and perform further fault finding, general rectification, relocation, and stabilization of the flying lead. Shelfs engineering team ensure the work was completed smoothly and without issues.
With operating water depths at 1489 meters there were great challenges on the ROV systems which performed well and completed the work without incident.
