Floating Production Unit IRM

Keeping field in good working order – inspection repair and maintenance of mooring systems for FSO’s, FPSO’s and SBM’s.

Shelf Subsea has developed a specialised niches in the area of Inspection Repair and Maintenance in the area of FSO’s, FPSO’s, SBMs and related mooring structures, which is why we continue to be a leader in executing such work – particularly in remote fields where there is no room for error in project execution.

The Summit FSRU in Bangladesh required inspection of its mooring lines and their catenaries for the purposes of re-tensioning. Clearing of debris (particularly fishing nets) entangled in the lines, and the replacement of one of the lines. In addition to this the exported pipeline was inspected and we assisted client with Freespan correction using Mass Flow Equipment provided by client.

Services provided during the project.

The over a number seasons Shelf has performed works using the Southern Star, Fire Opal and Pioneer. Each of the vessels has come fully integrated services:

  • Air diving Systems and Divers
  • ROVs and crew
  • Survey and Positioning
  • Project management and offshore construction managers.
  • Client provided Mass Flow Excavator for pipeline lowering.

Project outcome

Shelf successfully performed the work clearing multiple entangled fishing nets, inspecting the existing mooring lines , replaced damaged lines and assisted with the lowering of the export pipeline for the purposes of Freespan correction.

 

 

The Bay of Bengal is a challenging area for the provision of Subsea Services . The area is characterised by strong currents and low visibility.  Critical the to success in subsea intervention is a vessel with excellent station keeping ability, top class Diving, Survey, positioning and offshore project teams and equipment.
