HSE

Our Integrated Management System (IMS) has been developed and implemented to define, and establish clear Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) responsibility, accountability and leadership through every level of our organization. We apply open, honest and clear communication lines within the organization to ensure engagement of our employees in every aspect, whilst providing a quality service and conducting safe operations.

Shelf Subsea is committed to a working culture that embraces and has clear ownership for HSEQ issues within the work group. We sustain HSEQ as core values through daily focus on basic principles:

Strong leadership

The focus of this aspect is to strengthen leadership across Shelf Subsea Operations and ensure all leaders at all levels across the business demonstrate a commitment to quality assurance, environmental preservation and the health, safety and well being of our teams.  Shelf Subsea leaders are provided with ongoing coaching to encourage and empower them to lead by example whilst taking ownership of all HSEQ issues.

Visible support

Management is proactive and committed to displaying strong visual support in addressing HSEQ issues. Supervisors and managers conduct proactive site visits on a regular basis affording the opportunity to engage and communicate with work groups. It is vital to Shelf Subsea that whether it is from a formal or an informal process that Shelf Subsea leaders are seen on the work site, participating in HSEQ processes.

Clear guidance

Clear guidance is provided to all team members upon initial engagement, as part of inductions and training, along with ongoing coaching and communications. Shelf Subsea management systems offer an extensive range of policies, procedures and work instructions that are developed in consultation with the workgroups ensuring guidance is provided at all levels of operations.

Our Integrated Management Systems is certified (ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 & Iso45001:2018). Our Dive Safety Management System, which is approved by both National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Authority (NOPSEMA) and Department Mines and Petroleum (DMP), is the key management system for conducting safe diving operations, ensuring clear guidance is provided for all HSEQ issues.

The implementation of these basic principles has proven to provide Shelf Subsea with the best mechanism for building a strong and safe culture.
